City council makes promising vote toward museum expansion

The Winnemucca City Council recently voted against the appraisal of the 5.75 acre parcel adjacent to the Humboldt Museum and Jungo Road, which had previously been of interest for development by the Nevada Rural Housing Authority (NRHA). The members of the council voted unanimously, with Councilman Pam Coats absent and Councilman Michael Owens present via web-call. Appraisal is necessary only if the parcel is to be sold, but not if the land is gifted to a non-profit organization, like the museum, according to City Attorney Kent Maher.

Seven Troughs owner Tom Adams has closed his Sparks operation in order to open a bigger distillery and tasting room in Lovelock although the time frame is unknown. He may buy locally grown wheat, corn, barley and other grains as he constantly fine tunes the taste of his products. Tourists drawn to the whiskey business could benefit surrounding restaurants and retail stores.

It’s funded by a new political action committee called “A Stronger Nevada,” a group linked to the Democratic Governors Association and registered with the state less than two months ago — filed in a window that helps them avoid disclosing their donors before the primary.

What are bare spots?

Recently, I have been asked to look at several lawns to help diagnosis their problems.  As the weather has finally warmed up and lawns are transitioning from winter to spring, many lawns have bare spots in them. Bare patches are areas of your lawn that have exposed dirt and no grass.
