Humboldt County Rodeo Club plays host to NSHSRA

The Humboldt County Rodeo Club made a rare home appearance last weekend as it hosted the Nevada High School Rodeo Association. The cutting portion of the event was held at the Lucas Sandhill Feedlot on Friday, April 26. The remainder of the rodeo was held Saturday and Sunday at the Winnemucca Events Complex. There are four rodeos left in the spring season before the state finals in Fallon in June. The association travels to Lincoln County today and Saturday. The Lowry High School track and field team hosted more than 20 schools this past Saturday in the final regular season meet for squads from Division I-A to Division IV. Cody Andersen and Auri Criddle provided runner-up finishes for the Buckaroos in the shot put and 200 meters, respectively. Lowry travels to Yerington today and Saturday for the Division I-A North Regional Championships. Action gets underway at 3 p.m. today and 9 a.m. on Saturday. The top four finishers in each event advance to the NIAA State Track and Field Championships, which will be held at Silverado High School in Las Vegas on Friday, May 17, and Saturday, May 18.
