Lowry fall sports night to be held Aug. 7

WINNEMUCCA - The 2012 Lowry High School fall sports night for athletes and parents will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 7, at 7 p.m. in the Lowry auditorium.

WINNEMUCCA - Lowry High School grad Jace Billingsley scored two rushing touchdowns in the second half to go with a long kickoff return, in helping the Blue team to a 34-27 win over the Silver in the 31st annual Sertoma Football Classic on Friday night at Damonte Ranch High School in Reno.

Lowry girls basketball team hosts 'In a Zone' camp at high school

A total of 50 third through ninth graders took part in the annual "In a Zone" Lowry Girls Basketball camp this week at the high school. There were 16 third through sixth graders in the morning session, while 34 seventh through ninth graders participated in the afternoon. Winnemucca to play host to 9- and 10-year-old all-stars

WINNEMUCCA - The Little League all-star season is underway and the Winnemucca 9- and 10-year-olds will be playing on its home field this year in the opening round of the tournament.

Sanders, Dendary win titles at Winnemucca Amateur

WINNEMUCCA - Joe Sanders shot two rounds under par to take home the top spot at the Winnemucca Amateur held last Saturday and Sunday at Winnemucca Municipal Golf Course. The tournament featured 26 players in the scratch division and 23 in the net division.

Hoenck, Harper win state high school rodeo titles in Fallon SSIR to begin in Winnemucca next week

WINNEMUCCA - The Humboldt County Rodeo Club will be sending a number of its members to the National Finals High School Rodeo, after its performances at the Nevada State High School Association State Finals Rodeo held in Fallon June 13 - 17.
