Kracaw wins Ladies Club Spring Tournament

WINNEMUCCA - Terri Kracaw shot a two-day score of 127 to win the Winnemucca Ladies Golf Club Spring Tournament held at Winnemucca Golf Course on May 22 and May 29.

WINNEMUCCA - The Lowry High School baseball team had 10 of its players plus its coach honored on the Ruby Mountain all-league teams.

WINNEMUCCA - The Lowry High School baseball team had three players named to the respective all-state teams. Bryan Noble was the Buckaroos' only first team choice, as he was selected as a pitcher.

MERIDIAN, Idaho - I started bow hunting over 30 years ago with an old recurve I bought as a kid from Herter's. Since that time bows have progressed light years. Now it could be intimidating to get in to bow hunting. A great way to get started is bowfishing. It's a blast, there's a lot of shooting and it does our lakes and rivers good by cleaning out the trash fish.

Lowry finishes second in NIAA Award of Excellence standings Boulder City top 3A school for third straight year

WINNEMUCCA - With the end of the high school sports season the NIAA has announced its Award of Excellence in Academics, Athletics and Citizenship winners for 2011-2012.Pahranagat Valley was the 1A winner. The Meadows took home the top honor in the 2A, Boulder City the 3A and Bishop Manogue the 4A.

Lowry adds three state championships to impressive total School has won 74 team titles

WINNEMUCCA - Lowry High School added three more team state championships last season to the already impressive total it has built in its long history. Lowry/Humboldt County has now won 74 state team championships. Humboldt County was changed to Albert Lowry High School in the fall of 1967.

Lowry finishes year with three team state championships

WINNEMUCCA - As the high school season came to a close at the end of May, Lowry High School ended the year with three team championships, two state runner-up finishes and an all-time Nevada record nine state academic championship awards, regardless of classification.

BATTLE MOUNTAIN - The Longhorn Youth Team (LYT) held its second annual 3 on 3 Coed Basketball Tournament on May 24 in the Battle Mountain High School gym.

Eastern Oregon University puts on camp at Lowry High School

The calendar may say June, but the Lowry High School football team is already preparing for the 2012 fall season. The Buckaroos went through a camp this week that was being conducted with the Eastern Oregon University coaching staff. Eastern Oregon is a NAIA college located in LaGrande, Ore. The players went through a number of drills off and on the field, with work in the weight room as well as different modes of conditioning.
