WINNEMUCCA - The McDermitt High School track and field team started its season on April 7 in Elko and has been busy ever since, with meets in Idaho, Oregon and this past Tuesday in Winnemucca.
The Winnemucca Little League held opening ceremonies this past Saturday for its Major, Little Major, Coach-Pitch and T-Ball leagues. The Little League season started April 9 and will conclude near the end of May. T-Ball and Coach-Pitch games are played at Highland Park. Major and Little Major games are played on the Little Major field at Vesco Park and the Major field next to the swimming pool.

WINNEMUCCA - If there was any chance at upsetting the Lowry High School boys golf team it would likely have happened last Thursday in Spring Creek.

WINNEMUCCA - As the season began for the Lowry High School varsity softball team there was some unfinished business left over from a season before.
LOVELOCK - After participating in a small gathering at Lowry on April 17, the Pershing County High School track & field squads competed last weekend among 12 teams (1A - 3A) at the annual Dayton Invitational.
The spring season for the Nevada High School Rodeo Association and the Humboldt County Rodeo Club is now in full swing. The club participated in two rodeos of late, including Yerington (April 13 - 15) and at Douglas this past weekend. Full results of both rodeos have not yet been posted. The club travels to Panaca this Saturday and Sunday for the Lincoln County rodeo. Winnemucca and Humboldt County will host the association from May 4 - 6 at the Winnemucca Events Complex.
WINNEMUCCA - Linda Dufurrena recorded the most three's in the first flight of the Winnemucca Ladies Golf Club most 3's, 4's, 5's tournament Tuesday at Winnemucca Municipal Golf Course.
WINNEMUCCA - It has been a rare sight this season for the Lowry High School junior varsity softball team to fight for a victory, but that is where it found itself Tuesday on its home field.
WINNEMUCCA - With the regular season coming to an end this weekend, the Lowry High School swim team is looking to the postseason and gained some momentum to that point with two wins in South Tahoe this past Saturday against Wooster.The Lady Bucks won their first Zephyr League dual of the season, beating the Colts 136-131. The boys improved to 3-1 with a 132-91 victory.
