Volleyball, soccer, girls golf and cross country began practicing this week in preparation to the start of the year. The Lowry football team hosts Elko on Saturday in a scrimmage that starts at 10 a.m. Regular season games begin on Friday, Aug. 28 throughout Nevada.

Di An Putnam was second in the first flight at 93. Candace Puls (65) was low net in the first flight and Terri Kracaw was second with a 71.

High school football teams in Nevada have been practicing for the last week and half and now its time for the rest of fall sports to jump in.

Lowry football hits the field for preseason practice

The first signs of fall are here, as the Lowry High School football team hit the field for the first time this week with non-contact drills. The Buckaroos varsity squad is under the direction of first-year head coach Taua Cabatbat, who replaced Tim Billingsley. Nearly 100 student-athletes have turned our for the three combined teams. Lowry will see its first action on the field at home against Elko on Saturday, Aug. 22, in a scrimmage at 10 a.m. The Buckaroos begin the regular season at home on Friday, Sept. 4, against Fernley.
