Lowry cross country team runs at Northern 3A Regional Championships

The Lowry High School cross country team traveled to Reno and Rancho San Rafael Park on Friday for the Northern 3A Regional Championships.

The teams of Marlea Pointer/Bryn Echevarria and Laurie Pickett and Adua Boyle tied first with scores of 76 in the Winnemucca Ladies Golf Club Odd & Even tournament held Tuesday, Oct. 17, at Winnemucca Municipal Golf Course.

The McDermitt High School volleyball team celebrated senior night in style, with a 25-9, 25-20, 25-9 win over Wells this past Thursday night in McDermitt.

Swensen finishes ninth at Wells Invitational

The Lowry High School cross country team closed out the regular season this past Friday afternoon with the Wells Invitational at Chimney Rock Golf Course in Wells. Brooklyn Swensen led the way for the Lowry girls with a ninth-place finish in a time of 25 minutes, 9 seconds.

Lowry keeps playoff hopes going with a win and tie

Don’t give up on the Lowry High School boys soccer team playoff chances just yet. The Buckaroos kept themselves in the postseason hunt this past weekend with a7-0 win over White Pine and a 1-1 tie with West Wendover. Lowry improved to 4-5-2 in the Northern 3A East and 4-7-3 overall.

Lady Bucks collect four wins during the week

The Lowry High School girls soccer team continued its quest to host a home playoff match, extending its winning streak to six to improve to 14-5 overall and 12-3 in the Northern 3A East. The Lady Bucks collected four wins last week, starting on Tuesday, Oct. 10, with a forfeit victory over Battle Mountain. The Lady Longhorns canceled the remainder of their season last week.

The McDermitt High School volleyball team shook up the top of the 1A East standings this past weekend, with a five-set win over previously unbeaten Eureka.

Lowry clinches playoff berth with win over South Tahoe

After a tough stretch in the middle of the season, the Lowry High School football team got back on the winning track with a 38-20 win over South Tahoe on Friday night in the Buckaroos’ home finale and homecoming game. Lowry snapped a four-game losing streak and clinched a playoff berth in the process.

Lowry's Cassinelli named to Northern 3A girls golf first-team

The Northern 3A girls golf regular season concluded with tournaments in South Tahoe and Truckee. South Tahoe won the Northern 3A Regional Championship and Wooster and Fernley will join them in Mesquite this week for the NIAA 3A State Tournament.

The Lowry High School volleyball team made its final regular season road trip of the season with a short ride to Fallon on Friday night against Churchill County. The Lady Bucks, looking for their first win in the Northern 3A East, won the first set 25-23 in a back-and-forth affair.

Lowry's Joesph Vankuiken avoids the tackle of a Fernley defender

After struggling in a home loss to Churchill County and a week off in the schedule, the Lowry High School girls soccer team had some time refocus on the second half of the regular season. The Lady Bucks faced a tough test out of the break with a road trip to Spring Creek and Elko this past weekend. Lowry passed with flying colors, beating Spring Creek 3-0 on Friday and Elko 3-2 on Saturday afternoon. The Lady Bucks improved to 9-3 in the Northern 3A East and 11-5 overall.

Lowry falls to Fernley 21-14 on the road

The Lowry High School football team was looking to improve a possible playoff spot with a road trip to Fernley on Friday night. Both teams came into the contest with one win in the Northern 3A in a battle for the fifth spot in the postseason.
