The Winnemucca Badgers 14-16 year-old traveling baseball team just completed their 2017 season.
The Winnemucca 10-11-year-old Little League All-Stars will be hosting the District 3 Tournament starting on Thursday and running through Monday, July 3. . Ruby Mountain (Spring Creek) and Elko open the tournament on Thursday at 4:30 p.m. at the Little League Field by Bode Howard Pool.
The Winnemucca Boys and Girls Club was a busy place last week, as young girls came out for the annual Lowry Girls Basketball Camp. The girls received coaching and teaching from players off the various Lowry girls basketball teams.
As temperatures rose to nearly 100 degrees on Sunday afternoon, racers from around the area took to the track at Winnemucca Regional Raceway in an attempt to tame the 1/3-mile oval. IMCA, Pure Stock, Mini Mods and Dwarf cars were all in action.

The Winnemucca Gold Rush 14U traveling softball team claimed the team championship last weekend in Elko with a victory over the Nevada Beasts. The Gold Rush travel to Fallon this weekend to continue their season. Winnemucca has tournaments left in Fernley and Reno, before the state tournament in Susanville, Calif.
The 25th Annual Kid’s Fishing Day Event was held on Saturday, June 10, just north of Winnemucca at the Wilson Ranch; 150 kids signed up to fish this year.

The Badgers 16U traveling baseball team celebrated Father's Day with a tournament win over Elko on Sunday afternoon in Elko. The Badgers went 4-1 on the weekend, beating Elko 16-11 in the championship game.
