McDermitt High School’s Precious Masters was honored as the Eastern 1A Player of the Year, as selected by the league’s four coaches. This is the second consecutive Player of the Year award for Masters.

For the third time in the last five years, the Lowry High School girls basketball team found itself playing in the 3A state championship game. The foe would be a familiar one for the second consecutive season, as the Lady Bucks took on Northern 3A rival Churchill County. The Greenwave beat the Lady Bucks in the 2017 regional and state championship and the 2018 regional game in Elko.
McDermitt High School’s Cauy Crutcher and Ben Draunidalo were named to the Eastern 1A first team by the league’s six coaches. Crutcher, a senior, averaged 21.9 points, 3.8 rebounds, 4.7 assists and 2.2 steals a game. Draunidalo, a sophomore, averaged 14.4 points and 7.4 rebounds a game.
