The hard part was accomplished for the Lowry High School girls basketball team on Friday night. The Lady Bucks withstood the best challenge from Spring Creek to win 53-49 and advance to a fifth consecutive state tournament. In addition, Lowry is making its 13th appearance in the state championships since 2002.
Kings River Valley was finally able to host its first Humboldt County School District rural basketball game on Jan. 27. Kings River has had the new gym/community hall for more than 10 years but hadn’t been able to raise enough money for a gym floor until recently. The community has held numerous fundraisers and received many donations from locals and hunt club members.
