Pershing County softball wrapped up its regular season at home on Wednesday by hosting the North Tahoe Lakers (0-15) for senior day. The Mustangs beat the Lakers 18-11 and said goodbye to four seniors - Kaylen Halverson, Marya Burke, Benni Pompignoli, and Nova Karlsson. Pompignoli and Karlsson are exchange students from Europe.
The Battle Mountain High School track and field team ended the regular season on a high note this past Friday, sweeping the team titles at the Pershing County Invitational in Lovelock.
The memories were flowing along with some tears and a lot of laughter, as McDermitt High School inducted its first Hall of Fame Class
The Lowry High School baseball team made its home finale this past weekend with a three-game series against Churchill County.

The Lowry High School swim team was back in Reno at Northwest Pool on Saturday, April 15, to compete against North Valleys and North Tahoe. On the boys side, North Valleys beat Lowry 51-28 and North Tahoe knocked off the Buckaroos 84-27. In the girls dual, North Valleys won 116-35 and North Tahoe won 46-39.
The Battle Mountain High School softball team remained in the hunt for the top seed for the Northern 2A Regional Championship in May with a three-game sweep of North Tahoe this past weekend in Battle Mountain.
The Pershing County High School baseball team bounced back against Incline last Wednesday. They beat the Highlanders on the road in the last of a three-game series. The Mustangs went 3-0 against Incline for the season (12-7, 12-8, 11-8). "We played a solid and well-rounded game. It was a good bounce-back win and sets us up well as the season comes to a close," coach Jared Jensen said.
The Battle Mountain High School track and field team made the quick trip to Winnemucca on Saturday for the Lowry Invitational. Senior Jolena Ayers took home the top spot in the 400-meters with a season-best time of 1 minute, 4.74 seconds. She collected runner-up finishes in the 100 meters (13.71) and the 200 meters (28.60).
After a long, cold spring the PCHS track team soaked up the sunshine at the Lowry Invitational last Saturday. Ten team members competed in a variety of events. They included Josiah Hunt, Luis Sanchez, Denzel Zaldivar, Angelo Gibson, Evan Glanton, Ramon Sanchez, Izayuh McGlothin, Ashton Jimenez, Hayley Montes, and Yasmin Acosta.
The Lowry High School baseball team was back on its home field this past week for the first time since March 10 to take on Spring Creek in a Northern 3A East tripleheader.
