It was a pretty good week for three Humboldt County cowgirls at the National High School Finals Rodeo that concluded this past Saturday night at the Sweetwater Events Complex in Rock Springs, Wyo.
Two 2023 NCAA Tournament opponents and five road contests in California highlight Nevada’s 2024 non-conference schedule. Nevada opens the 2024 campaign at Mackay Stadium Aug. 18 against Southern Utah.

About 20 PCHS athletes and recent alumni competed with teams from California and Reno in Saturday's flag football tournament on Joe Yanni Field in Lovelock. The proceeds will benefit the high school football squad, supplying the funds for equipment bags and helmet bumpers.
RENO — Two Nevada Football contests were selected for national broadcast and three more kick times for the campaign were set, as TNT Sports and the Mountain West Conference announced a multi-year agreement for a full slate of live college football games to air exclusively on truTV and Max beginning this season.

Ladies Golf Results —
On Saturday June 29, Lovelock hosted their league's last swim meet of the summer. Even with hundreds of swimmers and 66 events, the day was a success thanks to Pat Rowe, the athletes, lifeguards and volunteers. The swimmers ranged in age from toddlers to teens. The Lovelock team wore red and black. Yerington (the Desert Foxes) wore purple. Both squads looked at home in the water.
The long high school rodeo season is hitting an end with the beginning of the National High School Finals Rodeo in Rock Springs, Wyo., on Sunday. The rodeo runs through July 20, with the top 20 finals. A number of cowboys and cowgirls from the Humboldt County and Battle Mountain rodeo clubs will compete.
The tri-town swim competition between Lovelock, Yerington and Hawthorne is heating up. Last Saturday, the season kicked off in Yerington with Lovelock competing against Yerington's Desert Fish.
