Semi takes a spill -

DEBRA REID • The Lovelock Review-MinerNevada Highway Patrol Trooper Anthony Hollister investigates a roll-over accident that left a big-rig truck driver with minor injuries and truck, trailer and cargo parts scattered off the I-80 freeway south of Lovelock at 6:30 a.m. on Tuesday, May 21. The driver was taken by ambulance to Pershing General Hospital for treatment. One southbound lane of the highway was closed as Nevada Dept. of Transportation crews cleaned up dirt and debris and remains of the truck were removed. The driver may have tried to over-correct when the truck drifted causing it to roll off the freeway, Hollister said.

BLM urges awareness of increased wildfire danger

CARSON CITY - The Bureau of Land Management, Carson City District, would like to remind the community to be aware of the increased chance of wildfire due to conditions resulting from a dry spring and recent warmer temperatures.

CARSON CITY - With a rise in Nevada traffic deaths in 2012, the Nevada Department of Transportation (NDOT) will post traffic fatality numbers on digital freeway boards to remind motorists to always drive safely.

WINNEMUCCA - The Bureau of Land Management (BLM), Winnemucca District, Black Rock Field Office has prepared a Preliminary Environmental Assessment for the BLM's proposal to acquire 320 acres of private edge holdings bordering the East Fork High Rock Canyon Wilderness.

LOVELOCK - Recently two shooters from the Flying Saucer Trap Club in Lovelock competed in the state PITA trap shoot in Fallon. The two shooters that competed were David Bequette and Michael Schottel, both from Lovelock.
