James Joseph Hicks, 77, of Homedale, Idaho, formerly of Winnemucca, passed away June 8, 2015 at home of natural causes. He was born in Towaoc, Colorado to Jesse and Mabel (Brooks) Hicks.

Ray Hardy was born Sept 9, 1940 in Ogden, Utah. Died at his homestead June 10, 2015 South of Golconda, Nev. Ray was a descendant of pioneers who crossed the plains with wagons and handcarts.

Obituary: William Henry Holt

William Henry Holt, 91 years old, joined his family in Heaven on May 27, 2015; surrounded by his loving family. Born February 26, 1924 in Paradise Valley, NV, Bill was the second oldest of Ralph Trousdale Holt and Gertrude Mary Fritchen Holt’s ten children. A fourth generation Nevadan, he was delivered by his father and grandmother, Fannie Trousdale Holt in a small house that no longer stands near the Fireman’s Park. 

Obituary: Paul Elvin Ohlmeier

He called himself “Indian Paul.” Though never raised in the Apache Nation, Paul was very proud of his native heritage, and took it upon himself to learn the ancient traditions and ways of his ancestors. Paul Elvin Ohlmeier was born December 3, 1957, in Phoenix, Arizona,. Adopted as an infant by Wilfred Henry Ohlmeier, and Shirley Elizabeth (Nissen) Ohlmeier, of Ute, Iowa, he was named after grand-father Elvin Nels Nissen, and brought into a large extended family, descendants of German emigrants.

William Anthony (Bill) Gallagher Jr., the most fortunate, blessed man you might ever want to meet, died on May 22nd at age 55.

Michael David Nicklanovich was born in Virginia City, Nevada, on May 26, 1941. He died in Lovelock, Nevada, on May 31, 2015, just days after his 74th birthday.

Robin Ann Kerr Hooper of Winnemucca, NV passed away unexpectedly on June 1, 2015 in Reno, NV. She was the oldest of 5 children born to Ivy Ann Lightfoot and Allen Robins Kerr. She was born on March 28, 1955 in Tooele, UT and raised in the Glendale area of Salt Lake City. She graduated from South High.

John Lee Aylesworth, 75, of Eunice, NM passed away at his home on May 27, 2015. Mr. Aylesworth was born on January 12, 1940, in Muleshoe, Texas to David R. Aylesworth Sr. and Imogene Lee Smith.

Obituary: Kenneth Lloyd Beeler

Kenneth Lloyd Beeler, long time resident of Battle Mountain, died Sunday 5-31-15. He retired from Battle Mountain Gold and out lived his beloved wife Mila by 14 years. He left behind a son Stacy Beeler of Battle Mountain, and a daughter Marilynn Durr of Winnemucca. He will be missed dearly by family and friends.

On Saturday May 23, 2015 Linda Anne McDowell (Saurer) passed away peacefully and her wild ride of a life came to a gentle end. In her final days, she was doted upon and cared for by her siblings and dearest friends.

JoAnn Miller, 73, died Monday, May 25th, 2015, in Salt Lake City, Utah. She was surrounded by an absolutely incredible staff that did everything they could for their amazing patient. More importantly she was surrounded by her every loving family, who made sure she felt nothing but the love and tenderness she had always shown them.
