LAS VEGAS - The Nevada District Office of the U.S. Small Business Administration announced today it is actively seeking nominations for its statewide 2014 Small Business Awards. The SBA will recognize honorees in the following categories at a premier event on May 22, 2014 at the Gold Coast Hotel/Casino, sponsored by Vegas PBS.

Barrick Cortez donates wagons and dinners to families for Thanksgiving

BATTLE MOUNTAIN - Barrick Cortez's Health and Safety Department helped to make Thanksgiving a day to be thankful for by donating four red wagons and holiday dinners to Battle Mountain families. They gave the wagons to the families on Nov. 26.

Winnemucca District BLM begins rehab work for 2013 fires, continues with 2012 fires

WINNEMUCCA - The Bureau of Land Management, Winnemucca District, has begun the planning process for emergency stabilization and rehabilitation work for six fires that burned more than 22,000 acres across the district in 2013 and will continue rehabilitation from the 2012 fire season that burned more than 250,000 acres.

WASHINGTON - The U.S. Department of Agriculture's Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) is opening the Conservation Stewardship Program (CSP) for new enrollments for federal fiscal year 2014. Starting now through January 17, 2014, producers interested in participating in the program can submit applications to NRCS.
