Online voter registration system expands to Lander County

CARSON CITY - Lander County residents can now register to vote and make changes to their current voter registration profile through www.registertovotenv.gov and nvsos.gov/votersearch, the online system on Secretary of State Ross Miller's website.

Mahon earns Master's degree from Arizona State

PHOENIX - Jessica A. Mahon of Battle Mountain recently earned a Master's degree in Social Work from Arizona State University. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and Gender Studies from the University of Notre Dame in 2010 and is a 2006 graduate of Battle Mountain High School.

Reno - Sparks hosts the national antique bottle show next week!

Thousands of collectors and hundreds of dealers from all over America and as far away as Australia are coming to the Grand Sierra Resort next week for the National Antique Bottle Show, Friday July 27 through Sunday July 29.

4-H car wash fundraiser -

The Lander County Livestock 4-H Club had their annual car wash and bake sale fundraiser on Saturday, July 14. One highlight of the day was getting to wash presidential candidate Mitt Romney's tour bus. They even got to go inside. They also washed a Canadian trucker's semi. The group would like to thank Raymond Etcheverry for letting them use his parking lot and store for the fundraiser. They also thank their parents for helping them get it all done and most of all they thank their customers for buying the baked goods and letting them wash your cars.
