Kingston Father's Day shoot attracts around 70 people Event featured barbecue, door and cash prizes

BATTLE MOUNTAIN - Kingston's Annual Father's Day Sporting Clay Fun Shoot was held June 16 and attracted around 70 shooters and spectators.

Fallon man arrested for allegedly poaching in Lander County Wesley Dick to be arraigned in Austin Justice Court Aug. 14

BATTLE MOUNTAIN - A Fallon man was arrested around 10:30 p.m. on June 7 for allegedly poaching three antelope west of Austin in the Smith Creek Valley in Lander County, said Edwin Lingar, public information officer for the Division of Law Enforcement of the Nevada Department of Wildlife (NDOW).

BATTLE MOUNTAIN - Former Battle Mountain resident Alexander Steven King pleaded guilty per plea agreement June 6, 2011, in the Third Judicial District Court in Lyon County to first degree murder with the use of a deadly weapon, a category A felony, according to the district court clerk's office in Lyon County.

Man pleads guilty in Austin stabbing case Sentencing set for Aug. 28

BATTLE MOUNTAIN - Richard Alan Joyner, 31, of Austin, pleaded guilty during an arraignment June 26 in the Sixth Judicial District Court to one count of battery resulting in substantial bodily harm, a category C felony. He came before Judge Michael Montero. He faces one to five years in prison and a fine of up to $10,000. He could also receive probation and restitution may also be part of the sentence. Joyner's sentencing was set for Aug. 28 at 10:30 a.m. in the district court.
