Trystin Conway, 4, entertained himself recently doing a fun kid dance on a porch in front of a Sixth Street residence. Battle Mountain residents were treated to a brief spell of nice weather which brought many people outdoors to play, walk, garden, relax at the parks, work on cars and much more.

Livestock judging returns to Winnemucca after nine-year hiatus

Dozens of pre-teens and teens gathered in the 4-H Barn at the Winnemucca Events Complex on April 7 to participate in a livestock judging show for 4-H and Future Farmers of America (FFA). Participants from Churchill, Humboldt, Lander, Pershing and Elko counties brought their pigs, sheep, goats and cattle to be judged by a panel. The event served to prepare some of them for upcoming state competitions.
