WINNEMUCCA - A Grass Valley, Calif., resident arrested last month with more than 20 pounds of marijuana on Interstate 80 near Mote in Humboldt County is scheduled for a preliminary hearing May 18 in Union Township Justice Court.

Probation revoked for Winnemucca man

WINNEMUCCA - Probation was revoked Monday for a local man who threatened a girl with a knife last year at Lowry High School.Jamie Sam, 20, admitted to 6th District Judge Michael Montero that he violated various conditions of his probation concerning weapons, controlled substances, employment and anger management counseling, among others. Sam pleaded guilty to a gross misdemeanor charge of conspiracy to commit assault with a deadly weapon in August 2011 and was sentenced to 12 months in jail in October. The jail sentence was suspended and Sam was placed on 36 months of probation.
