RENO (AP) - The Pew Charitable Trusts has revised a report on state employee health insurance benefits to show Nevada's program is better than originally stated and generally in line with national averages.
RENO - Nearly 30 years ago, the Nevada Arts Council and its partners created a radio series that would chronicle the fabric of Nevada folk heritage from experts in local arts that include bit and spur making, the language of gaming, neon glass blowing, cradleboarding and more. In celebration of the state's 150th birthday, the full 13-episode series "Home Means Nevada 1986: Folklife in the Silver State" has been digitized. Several episodes are now posted to the Nevada Arts Council website. The site will be updated regularly through Nevada Day when all 13 segments will be available.
ELKO - The Nevada Cattlemen's Association Research and Education Committee is searching for their twelfth "Teacher of the Year" who will receive a $1,000 school supply stipend from the Nevada Agriculture Foundation as they are recognized at the Annual Cattlemen's Convention Awards Banquet on Wednesday, Nov. 5, in Elko. Nominees may include teachers considered in previous years but who were not selected for the award.
