It was a great kick-off to the growing season at the Lazy P Adventure Farm on June 21 as 46 growers turned out to plant their very own pumpkins. Twenty-five rows were planted with 150 plots in each row making for 3,750 plants total in the three-acre pumpkin patch. The crops will be ready for harvest in early October and those who came out to plant were given a certificate which they can exchange for a free pumpkin. This will make for the second annual harvest the Lazy P has hosted, along with a haunted house and Nevada's largest corn maze. The corn maze will include an exciting twist in honor of the 150th Nevada Day celebration.Photos by Jessie Schirrick, the Humboldt Sun
