Driver of truck that rear-ended Humboldt County school bus arrested

No students were injured in accident

WINNEMUCCA - A Humboldt County school bus was stopped at Rose Creek Road and Airport Road at 4 p.m. Dec. 10 when it was rear-ended by a truck.

Barrick, employees boost coffers of food bank

Barrick employees also donated 99 coats and 528 pounds of food to the food bank, all of which will go to the needy in the community during the holiday season. Suspect who struck officer with vehicle signs plea deal

WINNEMUCCA - Jared Alan Holm, 26, pleaded guilty to three charges in Sixth Judicial District Court Tuesday stemming from several incidents, including one in which he is accused of striking an officer with a motor vehicle.

Lowry High students take audiences on a fun trip in 'SeussOdyssey'

Lowry drama and stagecraft students took audience members on a "SeussOdyssey" the first week in December. Daytime performances were given for all of the Lowry High School English classes that were studying Homer's "Odyssey" this year. Nighttime performances for the community were held Dec. 2-4 for a total of 10 performances. This relatively new play used the rhyming writing style of Dr. Seuss classics to tell the mythological story of Odysseus' journeys. Cast members laughed when they first read through the play's humorous rhyming format, and when they performed it, the audiences obviously felt the same.
