In a court hearing on Tuesday, Carlos Travon Torres changed his plea from not guilty to no contest to the murder of 39-year-old Elizabeth Crawford, who was found fatally stabbed multiple times in a motel in Winnemucca in March 2018. The jury trial for the case scheduled to start the following day was vacated following the change of plea, and sentencing for Torres is scheduled for Friday, September 20 at 9 a.m.

Boyd Lords and Martin Borden each appeared for arraignment hearings in Sixth Judicial District Court in Winnemucca on Tuesday, July 9, 2019, and pleaded not guilty to several charges regarding sexual assault and lewdness with a child under 14 years of age. According to a press release from the Winnemucca Police Department, Lords, a 51-year-old Winnemucca resident was arrested May 8, 2019 and booked into the Humboldt County Detention Center on five felony counts of sexual assault of a child under the age of 14 (violation of NRS 200.366), as a result of an ongoing investigation.
Carlos Torres was arrested for several charges 2018, including felony open murder for the death of 39-year-old Elizabeth Crawford, who was found with fatal stab wounds in the Country Hearth Motel in Winnemucca on the evening of March 27, 2018. Torres was charged with one felony count of open murder, three counts of attempted escape by a prisoner and one count of possession of a controlled substance for sale.

On June 25, Rachel Lewallen, age 25, was sentenced to serve a term of 12-30 months in prison after pleading no contest to trafficking in a controlled substance level one, a category B felony. According to the charging document, Lewallen was found to be in possession of methamphetamine greater than four grams but less than 14 grams on August 30, 2018 in Winnemucca.
