RENO, Nev. — The University of Nevada, Reno hosted a signing ceremony in recognition of its memorandum of understanding with Vallée de la Transition Énergétique (VTE) on March 7 on the University campus. The memorandum will foster cooperative relationships between the Nevada Lithium Batteries and Other Electric Vehicle Materials Regional Technology and Innovation Hub (Nevada Tech Hub) and the VTE, a collaborative proposal within Quebec dedicated to the development of energy sources such as batteries, the electrification of transport, hydrogen, and the decarbonization of industry and heavy transport.

PHOENIX (AP) — Kansas was one of Power Five football’s worst teams not that long ago, going through two full seasons with one combined win. The Jayhawks began rebuilding in coach Lance Leipold’s first season, went to a bowl game a year ago and now have a large trophy to take back home with them to Lawrence. Jason Bean threw for 449 yards and all six of his touchdown passes to two receivers, and penalty-plagued Kansas outlasted UNLV 49-36 in the Guaranteed Rate Bowl.
Las Vegas Metro Police say three people have died and one person remains hospitalized in stable condition after a shooting at UNLV Wednesday afternoon. The suspect also died. Sheriff Kevin McMahill told reporters during a media conference Wednesday evening that Metro knew the identity of the suspect, but declined to release that information until after the next of kin had been notified. Late Wednesday, the Associated Press, quoting law enforcement sources, reported the shooter was 67-year-old Anthony Polito.
UNLV football will appear on CBS for the first time in history and then be found on FOX networks, ESPN networks and CBS Sports Network at various points this fall as national television selections were announced in conjunction with the Mountain West and other conferences.
