Cindy Lu Sauer

March 14, 1954 – September 16, 2023 Cindy Lu Sauer, 69 of Winnemucca NV passed away Saturday, September 16, 2023 at her daughter’s residence in Newman CA. Mrs. Sauer was born in Rhinebeck, New York and was a resident of Winnemucca NV. She was a Marketing Executive for IBM for 29 years, and enjoyed gardening, her animals and most of all her grandchildren. Mrs. Sauer is survived by her husband, William A. Ray of Winnemucca, Nevada; daughter Nichole McCauley of Newman CA, Dusty Schrein of Winnemucca, Nevada; brother, Robert Muller of Arizona; sisters, Joy Snyder, and Penny Pulsifer both of Nevada; four grandchildren. A Private service will be held Services conducted by Hillview Funeral Chapel, Newman.

Tilman Lloyd Jones

Tilman Lloyd Jones, 66, went to his reward on Wednesday, September 6, 2023, at Mountrail County Bethel Home in Stanley, ND, after a two-year battle with cancer. Tilman “TJ” was born to Lloyd Jones and Caroline (Smart) Jones in Minot, ND. He attended school in Palermo, ND, graduating in 1975. He served as a medic in the United States Air Force from 1976 to 1980. After serving his country, he worked as a mechanic at several western North Dakota Ford dealerships and helped his father, Lloyd, operate the family farm before moving to Nevada in the fall of 1984. He found his niche in Austin, Neveda. He also found love there, when he married Vicky Jolly in 1989. Tilman and Vicky worked together as EMTs and he took pride in easing people’s pains and fears and saving lives in the remote area where they lived. He and Vicky also worked …

James Frederick Huckaby

James Frederick Huckaby was born on October 28, 1940, in the piney woods of Northern Louisiana. He is preceded in death by his wife Julianne Etta Fane Huckaby (Midgie), sister Billie Jean Mosley, nephew Jay Huckaby, and niece Rachel Avery. He is survived by brother Gerald Huckaby, sister Becky Thomas, daughter Courtney Rorex, (husband Andy Rorex), son James N. Huckaby (wife Dawn Huckaby) and grandchildren Amy Huckaby, James R. Huckaby and Caden Rorex as well as his dog Ruby. Jimmie Fred, or Freddie, spent his childhood in Northern Louisiana and tried his hand after high school, working at the paper mill in his hometown of Hodge. His stepdad told him he needed to go to college, and he could do so, due to the federal war orphan bill. Freddie went on to Northwestern State University in Natchitoches where he met Midgie. David John Kern

David John Kern was born on June 14, 1946 to William and Valeska Kern in Salt Lake City, Utah. He was the youngest of 5 siblings, Ruth, Eleanor, Norma and Harold. Ruth lived in New York with her husband Joseph Reiter, at the time of his birth. Dave was raised in SLC with his parents and attended school there. He moved to Paradise Valley, Nevada in 1970 and resided there until a life ending illness. He passed away in Las Vegas, August 25, 2022 shortly after being discharged from a rehab facility in Henderson. Dave was a member of the Paradise Valley Volunteer Fire Department for 52 years and was made as an honorary Fireman in July of 2022. He loved the PVVF and was proud to help with the annual Father’s Day Barbecue. He loved the park that the Firemen built and maintained since 1980. After working at several …

Gael McGibbon

Gael McGibbon, 69, left home for her final adventure on Friday, August 25th, surrounded by all the love and well-wishes of her family and her closest friend. She had waged a valiant battle with cancer for 13 months. She will be fondly remembered by the many people whose lives she touched, and missed deeply and always by her surviving family: husband Doug; sister Betsy; children Mark, Jess (Mick), and Andy (Kaitlin); and grandchildren Brendan, Ophelia, Bradley, Weston, and Wyatt. Always a spitfire, she was born in Cincinnati, Ohio, and spent her childhood creating mischief with her older sister, Betsy, and their dog, Dodo. Jon Alvin Riley

Jon Alvin Riley passed away on August 28, 2023, at the age of 51. He was born on March 6, 1972, in Winnemucca, Nevada to Leslie Jay and Pamm Riley. He lived his entire life in Winnemucca, Nevada. He was part owner of R&R Trucking and worked as a heavy equipment operator for most of his life. He married Kim Riley on July 22, 1990. The two were married for 33 years and they shared 5 children, Eren, Jon Jr, Trenton, Maddie, and Jason. Jon was very proud of all of his children and grandchildren. They were the light and joy in his life. Jon was very loved and will be missed. He is survived by his wife, Kim Riley. Michael Anthony Odom

Michael Anthony Odom passed away on August 27, 2023, at his home in Winnemucca, Nevada at the age of 63. He was born on November 12, 1959, in Brooklyn, New York to John and Betty Odom. Michael was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York. He lived there until he joined the United States Marine Corps in 1980. He was stationed in Japan for about 2 years until he was transferred to Yuma, Arizona. He left the Marine Corps in 1985. He was trained as an Engineer Equipment Mechanic, which he continued to use throughout his life. He married Ramona Richards in 1997, and the two were married until 2002. He started his career at Hunewill Construction using his training in Engineer Equipment Mechanics, he worked there until his death. In 2011, Michael married Deborah Carlson.
