The Winnemucca Century Club, the booster club for Lowry High School athletics, will hold its annual membership drive barbecue on Saturday, Aug. 23, at 6 p.m. at Pioneer Park.
RENO - In voting by the team, seniors Cody Fajardo, Matt Galas and Jonathan McNeal along with junior Jordan Dobrich were named captains of the 2014 Nevada football team, which was second-year coach Brian Polian.

The Eastern Oregon University football team made a stop in Winnemucca last Thursday to practice at Lowry High School before continuing on to the Bay Area later in the day. The Mountaineers, who finished 25th in the final 2013 NAIA college football poll are located in La Grande, Ore. Eastern Oregon played at Menlo College on Saturday to open the 2014 campaign and won 45-27.
