Winnemucca 9-10-year-old stars knock off White Pine in District 3 action

The Winnemucca 9-10-year-old stars kicked off the Little League All-Star season this week in Fernley. Winnemucca defeated White Pine 16-5 on Monday in the opening round and lost 21-2 to High Desert (Fernley) on Tuesday. Winnemucca took on Walker River (Yerington) on Wednesday in an elimination game and lost 17-2, ending its run in the tournament. The championship game is set for 6 p.m. on Saturday.
