Lowry High School graduate Tytin Johnson is going to be a busy guy next fall. Johnson recently signed a letter of intent to wrestle and play baseball at Lassen Community College in Susanville, Calif.
A handful of athletes from Lowry High School traveled to Reno on Friday, May 23, to compete in the Northern Nevada Weightlifting Championships at Reno High School.
"The guys know each other from playing against one another," said coach Ron Espinola. "Some played together during the summer last year. We got to Reno and were handing out the uniforms to the Spring Creek kids. They are still trying to get to know each other. There is really not one vocal guy on the field that stands out. They lead by example and not by their voice. The communication will come out on the field."
The Lowry High School boys basketball team will be holding its annual camp June 9 - 12 in the main gym at Lowry.
The 2014 Lowry High School fall sports night for athletes and parents will be held Wednesday, Aug. 13, at 6:30 p.m. in the Lowry auditorium.

The donation goes toward helping pay for coaches to come from Eastern Oregon University, who were in town this week, to put on a camp for players from Lowry High School. This is the third consecutive year that Eastern Oregon has come to Winnemucca to put on the camp.
