Lowry freshmen boys lasso Fernley -

The Lowry High School freshmen boys basketball team raced out to a 20-1 lead Feb. 6 in Winnemucca and went on to beat Fernley 45-14 to sweep the Lyon County school for the season. Brady Lange scored 10 points for the Buckaroos and Joe Taylor, Donavyn Morris and Jed Teichert scored six points each. Lowry heads to Spring Creek today for a 4:30 p.m., tip and hosts Elko on Saturday at 11 a.m.

The Lowry High School freshmen girls basketball team had little trouble with Fernley on Feb. 6 in Winnemucca. Lowry scored the first 18 points of the game in the 41-7 victory. Audrey Snow and Kenadee Miller outscored Fernley by themselves with 17 and eight points, respectively. Lowry travels to Spring Creek today for a 3 p.m., start and hosts Elko on Saturday at 12:30 p.m.
