The Lowry High School freshmen girls basketball team had little trouble with Fernley on Feb. 6 in Winnemucca. Lowry scored the first 18 points of the game in the 41-7 victory. Audrey Snow and Kenadee Miller outscored Fernley by themselves with 17 and eight points, respectively. Lowry travels to Spring Creek today for a 3 p.m., start and hosts Elko on Saturday at 12:30 p.m.

After dropping five of its first six games to begin the year, including a one-point loss to South Tahoe to open play in the Division I-A North, it looked like it was going to be a long season for the Lowry High School girls basketball team.
It was built up as the game of the year in northern Nevada and it did not disappoint.
The Lowry High School wrestling team won its sixth consecutive Division I-A North championship on Saturday, topping Churchill County by 94.50 points at Sparks High School.
