It was a mixed bag for the Lowry High School freshmen boys basketball team on two-day road trip last weekend.

WINNEMUCCA - The 2014 Lowry High School spring sports night for athletes and parents will be held Feb. 5 at 6 p.m. in the Lowry auditorium.

Freshmen girls crush Railroaders -

The Lowry freshmen girls basketball team nearly pulled off rarity on Friday afternoon by beating Sparks 41-1 in Winnemucca. The Railroaders didn't score until making a free throw with 5:38 left in the game. The Lady Bucks went on to beat Truckee on Saturday to improve to 12-0 in the Division I-A North and 15-1 overall. Lowry hosts Fernley on Thursday at 3 p.m. and Churchill County on Saturday at 11 a.m.

Coming into last weekend, one major hurdle stood in front of the Lowry High School girls basketball team and a spot in the Division I-A North regional basketball tournament.

It was a mere formality at the beginning of the season, but the Lowry High School boys basketball team made it official last weekend, clinching a spot in the Division I-A North regional tournament.

Freshmen knock off Sparks -

The Lowry freshmen boys basketball team led by as many as 20 points on Friday against Sparks in Winnemucca before settling for a 41-31 victory over the Railroaders. Lowry is home this weekend to play Fernley on Thursday at 4:30 p.m. and Churchill County on Saturday at 12:30 p.m.

WINNEMUCCA - Rack Pack moved to the top of the Winnemucca Pool League standings, with a 15-2 victory over Sand Dune Lizards in week 15 action. Rack Pack is 12-3, with 171 out of a possible 255 points.
