LHS fall sports night this Monday

WINNEMUCCA - The 2013 Lowry High School fall sports night for athletes and parents will be held on Monday at 6 p.m. in the Lowry auditorium.

Lowry High School volleyball team holding open gyms, morning workouts until Aug. 8

WINNEMUCCA - The Lowry High School volleyball team is currently holding open gyms every Tuesday and Wednesday from 6 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. at the main gym at the high school. Those girls that attend are asked to bring court shoes and a bottle of water.

WINNEMUCCA -The Winnemucca Junior High School seventh and eighth-grade girls basketball teams will be holding an open gym from Monday, Aug. 19, through Wednesday, Aug. 21, from 10 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. at WJHS for those interested in trying out for the team this fall.

Spike Frog Volleyball hosts camp for junior high, high school students

The Lowry High School gym was full of junior high and high school girls at the end of last week as part of the Spike Frog Volleyball camp. Spike Frog is a private volleyball skills instruction operated by Dave Taylor in Austin, Texas. Josh Taylor was in town to instruct the camp. The camp teaches core skills in passing and serving. Once those fundamentals are achieved, campers move on to spiking, setting, individual defense and blocking. Good Times Street Drags makes annual trip back to Traders Way

Traders Way was busy once again this past weekend as drag racers from around the area were in Winnemucca for the annual Good Times Street Drags on Friday and Saturday. Close to 150 drivers compete in different classes such as Pro, Sportsman, and the King of the Hill.
