WINNEMUCCA - The 2013 Lowry High School fall sports night for athletes and parents will be held on Monday at 6 p.m. in the Lowry auditorium.

WINNEMUCCA - The Lowry High School volleyball team is currently holding open gyms every Tuesday and Wednesday from 6 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. at the main gym at the high school. Those girls that attend are asked to bring court shoes and a bottle of water.

WINNEMUCCA - With the calendar turning to August, I have come to the harsh reality that my life is about to get crazy busy once again.
The Lowry High School gym was full of junior high and high school girls at the end of last week as part of the Spike Frog Volleyball camp. Spike Frog is a private volleyball skills instruction operated by Dave Taylor in Austin, Texas. Josh Taylor was in town to instruct the camp. The camp teaches core skills in passing and serving. Once those fundamentals are achieved, campers move on to spiking, setting, individual defense and blocking. Traders Way was busy once again this past weekend as drag racers from around the area were in Winnemucca for the annual Good Times Street Drags on Friday and Saturday. Close to 150 drivers compete in different classes such as Pro, Sportsman, and the King of the Hill.
