WINNEMUCCA - The Lowry High School girls basketball team will be holding a camp June 17-20 in the main gym at the high school.
After starting its year way back in September, the Humboldt County Rodeo Club finished out its regular season this past weekend in Eureka. Members of the club participated in 13 rodeos throughout the past nine months in The Nevada State High School Rodeo Association, taking them to all parts of the Silver State. The Humboldt County squad will be back in action at the Nevada State High School Rodeo Finals in Fallon, which takes place June 13-16. The top four finishers in each event at the state finals qualify for the National High School Rodeo Finals. Those placing fifth through 15th in their respective states or provinces qualify for the Silver State International Rodeo in Winnemucca from July 2-6 at the Winnemucca Events Complex.
RENO - One of the all-time greats of the San Francisco 49ers, three-time Super Bowl champion Roger Craig will serve as the keynote speaker at the 45th annual Governor's Dinner in July.The dinner is set for Friday, July 12, at the Governor's Mansion in Carson City. Proceeds from the Governor's Dinner benefit student-athlete scholarships at the University of Nevada.Craig starred at Nebraska before embarking on an 11-year NFL career in which he rushed for 8,189 yards and tallied 4,911 receiving yards with 90 career touchdowns.
WINNEMUCCA - Terri Kracaw shot a two-day score of 138 to win the Winnemucca Ladies Golf Club Spring Tournament held at Winnemucca Golf Course on May 21 and May 28.

RENO - The Nevada football team picked up its 10th national television game of the year, as the Pac-12 Network will broadcast the Wolf Pack's season opener at UCLA on Saturday, Aug. 31. The game will kickoff at 7 p.m. at the Rose Bowl.
