WINNEMUCCA - The McDermitt High School track and field team got its season started last week with meets in Idaho and Oregon.

Lowry golfers cruise to fourth consecutive Division I-A victory

The Lowry High School boys golf team remained perfect on the year, shooting a 400 on Wednesday at Ruby View Golf Course in Elko. The host Indians were second at 418. Spring Creek was third at 432 and Dayton (472) and Fernley (485) rounded out the top five. Lowry's Cole Erquiaga was the low medalist at 75. The Buckaroos hosted their home meet on Thursday and results were not available at press time. For a full recap of both tournaments look in Tuesday's edition of the Humboldt Sun.

WINNEMUCCA - After two weeks without a meet, the Lowry High School track and field team jumped back into action in a big way last Saturday at the Fernley Invitational.

Castellanos earns Top Gun tournament honors

Sand Dunes Diggers claimed the team championship in the Winnemucca Pool League by winning the postseason tournament title held at Butch Cassidy's. Sand Dune Diggers also laid claim to the regular season title. Rack Pack finished second in the tournament to go with its runner-up outing in the regular season. Ed Castellanos earned the postseason championship in the Top Gun standings after Ted Garcia won the regular season Top Gun title. The Winnemucca Pool League would like to thank Butch Cassidy's for holding the final tournament of the season.
