WINNEMUCCA - Three previous members of the Humboldt County Rodeo Club have qualified for the National College Rodeo Finals in Casper, Wyo., to be held June 10 - 16.
The Humboldt County Rodeo Club had the rare opportunity to stay at home as it hosted the Nevada State High School Rodeo Association at the Winnemucca Events Complex May 4 - 6. The season is coming to a quick end, with just two rodeos left to go for the year. The circuit was off this past weekend and travels to Elko on Friday and Saturday. Eureka will host the clubs on May 26 - 27, with the state finals in Fallon June 13 - 16.

WINNEMUCCA - Ever since its runner-up finish last May at Hidden Valley Country Club in Reno, the Lowry High School boys golf team had only one thought in its minds since the first day of practice just a few months ago in March.With a team of all underclassmen, the Buckaroos made a statement this spring, going undefeated in eight regular-season tournaments and finishing off a perfect year at the NIAA 3A State Championships in Boulder City on Monday, May 14, and Tuesday, May 15.
