The Lowry High School boys soccer team jumped out to a 1-0 lead at halftime at Fallon on Saturday, but Churchill County rallied for a pair of goals in the final 40 minutes to grab a 2-1 victory.

The Pershing County Mustangs took full advantage of the extra practice time they got from their opponent's cancellation last Friday. It showed when they blanked Yerington 50-0 on the road this past weekend. Now the Mustangs are looking forward to their Homecoming Game against the North Tahoe Lakers (0-4) this Friday.

A week after dropping a 1-0 contest to Fernley on the road, the Lowry High School girls soccer team got off to another slow start against Churchill County this past Saturday in Winnemucca to close out the first half of the Northern 3A East conference. The Greenwave scored a pair of first-half goals and held on for a 4-2 win. The first goal came in the seventh minute and the second came with five minutes left in the first half.
For the first time in 58 days, the Battle Mountain NNA swim team was back in the pool for the Molly Lahlum Memorial Autumn Freeze from Sept. 15-17 at the Carson Valley Swim Center in Minden.

The Lowry High School girls golf team remained in the hunt for a berth in the state tournament in October, with a tie for fifth place in Falllon on Tuesday, Sept. 19. South Tahoe won the tournament with a score of 410, followed by Wooster (413) and Elko (414) were second and third, respectively.
Playing in front of its home crowd for the only time in September, the Lowry High School volleyball team got back on the winning track with a 25-17, 25-7, 25-12 victory over Wooster on Thursday night.
The regular season for the Northern 2A girls golf season is quickly coming to an end and the league made a stop at Mountain View Golf Course in Battle Mountain on Thursday, Sept. 21.
