Now that early voting has commenced in Nevada, generally, and Humboldt County, specifically, I would like to share a few thoughts on what I believe are the responsibilities of the voters.  

Denio library deserves positive changes

Change in election laws

It has been brought to my attention the 2015 legislative session passed two bills that significantly affect the voters in Pershing County. These two bills change who is listed on the primary ballots and how our next commissioners will be elected.

Battle Mountain is becoming a ghost town

In one of the [Lander County] commissioner’s meetings, not sure when, but recently the commissioners decided to not let new companies come into town and won’t let any new businesses in. In other words they want to keep Battle Mountain a closed town, which makes no sense at all.

NVDOT latest move is immoral

The need for taxes to support our state is undeniable. But the Nevada Department of Taxation’s latest move placing an even larger burden on the injured, sick and dying is both unnecessary and inhumane.
