I read with excitement about the county moving toward a recycling center in Lovelock. I cannot tell you how thrilled I am to believe that finally my cans, plastic, newspaper and glass can soon be recycled locally.
It never ceases to amaze me how the Winnemucca community can rally together in support of a special activity or someone in need.
My sister and I would like to respond to the letter published in the Lovelock Review Miner (Oct. 10-16) regarding law enforcement in Lovelock. We feel that the writer of this letter is misinformed on several issues and we would like to discuss some of the points that were brought up.

Elections are on the horizon. Time for what can be the usual rhetoric from those seeking election and/or re-election to their office. Time to listen to "what we need," which most already know. "What I can do for you," the county, the state, and the nation. etc., etc., etc. (proof is in the pudding). Most certainly "actions speak louder than words" and unfortunately they have been acutely lacking in many areas lately.
Relay for Life of Winnemucca is choosing hope this season! We are getting a headstart this year with our many activities and fundraising efforts because we want to give our teams, businesses and participants enough time to fundraise for this event.
