Volunteers needed to advocate for residents in long-term care facilities

Carson City - The State of Nevada's Aging and Disability Services Division has added a volunteer component to its Long Term Care Ombudsman Program and is looking for people interested to participate in Elko, Battle Mountain, and Winnemucca. Volunteers will serve as advocates for residents over the age of 60 living in skilled nursing and assisted living facilities.

NDOT reschedules Airport Road closure

Construction work planned from Aug. 20-23

WINNEMUCCA - Airport Road (State Route 796) is scheduled to be closed at the Union Pacific Railroad crossing southwest of Winnemucca Aug.20 to Aug. 23 to improve the crossing's road surface.
