Recreation in the outdoors is to be expected this summer among the Winnemucca community and northern Nevadans. Volunteers will come together in the next few months to participate in stewardship on the beautiful Santa Rosa Ranger District in Paradise Valley to ensure that people can continue to enjoy recreating in the area for years to come.

Pam Ruark named HGH 'Nightingale Nurse of Year'

WINNEMUCCA - A longtime Humboldt County nurse has been named the 2012 "Nightingale Nurse of the Year" by Humboldt General Hospital.Pam Ruark, R.N., received the news at a special reception Friday, May 11. She was one of four candidates nominated for the honor, including Kathryn Esquivel, R.N.; Jennifer Fernandez, R.N.; and, Charlotte Bailey, L.P.N.

Sexual assault suspect set for arraignment

WINNEMUCCA - Zachariaha Campbell is scheduled to be arraigned Monday in Sixth District Court on one of two charges he faces for allegedly groping and fondling two women on two separate occasions in Walmart.He will appear before Judge Michael Montero to enter a plea to a felony charge of sexual assault.
