James Wayne Uffman was recently ordered to serve two to five years in prison after pleading guilty to a category C felony methamphetamine drug charge. Uffman, age 48, was arrested on March 4, 2020, in Humboldt County, for transporting 25.4 grams of methamphetamine, a schedule one controlled substance.
Two men in separate gross misdemeanor cases were sentenced recently in Sixth Judicial District Court with one ordered to probation on a suspended jail sentence and another ordered to pay a fine.
Winnemucca resident Clinton Diong, age 38, was given a maximum suspended prison sentence of 48-120 months with the opportunity to complete a veteran’s treatment diversion program in Reno as a condition of probation and the opportunity to avoid the category B felony charge after pleading no contest to shooting into a vehicle occupied by several people including two small children, hitting one woman in the neck, causing trauma to the victim and family. Diong was arrested in the early morning of September 21, 2020, at approximately 2:15 a.m. after a 24-year-old woman was shot in the neck and injured while driving a vehicle in the Moon Lane area of Winnemucca.

A routine traffic stop by a Humboldt County Deputy lead to the seizure of an array of drugs on Wednesday Jan. 13, 2021. During the traffic stop the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office Narcotic Detection Dog, Ghost, was deployed and one pill of Fentanyl was located and seized.
