McDermitt track and field competes in Fallon

The McDermitt High School track and field team was able to dodge the weather on Saturday with a trip to the Fallon Elks Invitational that featured a number of teams from Nevada.

Laeloni Tobey led the way for the Lady Bulldogs, finishing third in the discus, with a personal best throw of 83 feet, 9 inches. The junior placed sixth in the shot put with a toss of 26-7.

Kiarra Crutcher finished eight in the shot put (25-1) and 14th in the discus (66-1), while Cierra Smart was ninth in the discus (68-3) and 11th in the shot put (24-8.50).

Reign Crutcher turned in a 12th-place finish in the 800 meters with a time of 3 minutes, 25.42 seconds and 35th in the discus (51-9).

On the boys side, sophomore Shandon Camas set a personal best in the discus to place 10th at 105-4 and 11th in the discus (35-5).  AJ Farmer posted two personal bests in the shot put (33-4) and the discus (105-4) and Jeremiah Horn had a personal best in the shot put with a toss of 90-7 to place 21st. Horn had a throw of 32-4 in the shot put.

Freshman Dylan Jackson came home with a personal best in the discus and he threw the shot put 18-7.50. 

Fellow freshman Chris Scott set a personal best in the 300-meter hurdles to place 20th at 52.85 and he finished 21st in the triple jump (29-10.50). He had a time of 28.84 in the 200 meters. Scott jumped a personal best 13-9.25 in the long jump

Warrick Crutcher (2:54.39) and Caden Crutcher (3:10.16) set personal bests in the 800 meters. They did the same in the long jump with Warrick jumping 12-4.50 and Case 11-11.

McDermitt travels to Battle Mountain on Friday.
