Jackson selected as new NIAA Executive Director

LAS VEGAS – Timothy Jackson, Director of Athletics for the Clark County School District, has been selected as Executive Director of the Nevada Interscholastic Activities Association.

Jackson was selected by the NIAA’s Board of Control at the board’s quarterly meeting on Tuesday, March 19.

A Bowling Green State University graduate, Jackson will succeed Donnie Nelson and become the association’s sixth executive director.

“I want to formally thank the NIAA Board of Control for this opportunity,” Jackson said. “I am very excited to begin working for the students of Nevada.”

Nelson is retiring from the position effective June 1.

Jackson was the athletic administrator at Durango High School in Las Vegas prior to becoming a Director of Athletics with the CCSD in April 2019.

He currently serves on the NIAA’s realignment committee and the National Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association’s Certification Committee.

Jackson has been designated as a Certified Master Athletic Administrator by the NIAAA and the National Federation of State High School Associations.
