After starting the Northern 2A season on a high note with a series sweep of Silver Stage, the Battle Mountain High School baseball team was hoping to extend that momentum when it Oasis Academy this past Friday and Saturday.

However, the Bighorns had other ideas, as the Fallon school left with three wins of their own.

Oasis won a single game on Friday 10-0 in five innings and swept a doubleheader on Saturday (18-2 and 6-5).

The Bighorn are in their first year in the 2A, following NIAA realignment last summer. Oasis was a 1A school and own an 8-1 record this year.

The Longhorns dropped to 3-3 in league play and 4-4 overall.
