December 12

In the case of Stan Lee Sandvig, charged with Domestic Battery – 1st Offense. After hearing from all parties, the court ruled as follows: Fined $1,140 which was converted to jail time and given credit for time served. Violation order is revoked.


In the case of Stan Lee Sandvig, charged with Battery. After hearing from all parties, the court ruled as follows: Fined $1,140 with $640 suspended, the remaining $500 to be paid by monthly payments of $50 beginning February 1, 2024. Violation order is revoked.


Soren Alexander Alderman, charged with Domestic Battery – 1st Offense. Pursuant to negotiation, DDA Steve Girardot amended the criminal complaint to NRS 200.481 – Battery, which was signed and acknowledged by all parties. Defendant entered a Guilty plea to the amended charge, which was canvassed and accepted by the court. After hearing from all parties, the court ruled as follows: Fined $1,140 which was converted to jail time and given credit for time served. Jury trial demand was verbally withdrawn by defense.


Charles James Gritt Jr., charged with Battery. Pursuant to negotiation, DDA Steve Girardot motioned to dismiss this case with prejudice. Without objection from the defense, the court accepted the motion. 


In the case of Matthew Lucas, charged with, 1: Reckless Driving – 1st Offense, 2: Failure to Drive on Right Side of Roadway. The county offered 1 exhibit, which was marked. Defense objected to the admission. 

After a brief recess and review of the exhibit, the court accepted the statement portion of the exhibit to be admitted but denied the itemized documents of financial loss.

After hearing from all parties, the court ruled as follows: Fined $1,085, the court suspended $300 of the fines, leaving a balance of $785. Community service was offered in lieu of fines, but defendant chose to make monthly payments of $50 beginning February 1, 2024.


In the case of Randall Ryan Miles Jr., charged with Battery. Pursuant to negotiation and the dismissal of associated case, this citation has been dismissed by DA Kevin Pasquale. 


December 19

In the case of Brayden Morgan Nipper, charged with Resident Operating a Vehicle w/o NV Vehicle Registration. Due to defendant’s failure to appear, a show cause hearing was set for January 24, 2024 at 3:00p.m. 

Defendant called after court and the show cause hearing was rescinded. Pursuant to negotiation, DDA Steve Girardot dismissed count 2 of the citation.

Defendant entered a Guilty plea to count 1 which was a civil infraction. The court canvassed his plea and accepted the same. After hearing from all parties, the court ruled as follows: Fined $75 to be paid within 30 days.


In the case of Dylan Gilson, charged with Dog at Large – 3rd Offense. DDA Steve Girardot dismissed the citation off the record due to compliance and proof provided.


In the case of Ruth Pirtle, charged with, 1: Dog License Required – 2nd Offense, 2: Rabies Required – 2nd Offense, 3: Dog at Large – 2nd Offense. DDA Steve Girardot dismissed this citation off the record due to compliance and proof provided.


In the case of Chad Michael Reeves, charged with Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. DDA Steve Girardot dismissed this case on the record pursuant to negotiation. 


In the case of Tyler Staas, charged with Littering. Due to the county being able to prove this case without a reasonable doubt, DDA Steve Girardot motioned to dismiss this citation. Without objection from the defendant, the court granted the motion.

In the case of Tyler Staas, charged with, 1: Fail to Refuse to Surrender Suspended, Cancelled, or Revoked Reg Card or License Plate, 2: Owner – Proof of Insurance Required (Proof Shown). Due to compliance and proof provided, DDA Steve Girardot motioned to dismiss this citation. Without objection from the defendant, the court accepted the motion.

Roger Lee McConnell Jr., age 50, was arrested for, 1: Assault Constituting Domestic Violence, 2: False Imprisonment, 3: Two Violations of Grand Larceny of a Firearm, 4: Petit Larceny, 5: Domestic Battery, 6: Convicted Person Failure to Register, 7: Possession of a Sched I or II Controlled Substance, 8: Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
