Battle Mountain NNA swimmers Nevaeh Serna and Weston Reiva competed in the 2024 Valentines Day Age Group from Feb. 9-11 at the Carson Valley Swim Center in Minden.
Serna earned the high-point award in her division, winning the 100-yard back stroke on 2 minutes, 27.27 seconds and the 50-yard backstroke at 32.45.
The young swimmer picked up three more wins, including the 100-yard backstroke (1:08.58), the 200-yard individual medley (2:31.81) and she took off nearly five seconds to win the 100-yard butterfly at 1:12.51.
She collected runner-up finishes in the 100-yard individual medley (1:11.10), the 50-yard butterfly (32.96), the 100-yard freestyle (1:03.90) and the 50-yard freestyle (28.98).
Weston Reiva swims at the 2024 Valentines Day Age Group at the Carson Valley Swim Center in Minden.
Serna placed fifth in the 50-yard breaststroke with a time of 39.61 and also set a personal-best time in the event.
Reiva chopped off nearly 10 seconds to place fourth in the 100-yard individual medley with a time of 1:27.23.
He also placed fourth in the 100-yard butterfly at 1:50.57.
Reiva placed sixth in the 50-yard backstroke (40.76), seventh in the 100-yard freestyle (1:14.67) and eighth in the 50-yard freestyle at 43.16, which was a 1.85-second improvement.
He took off more than six seconds off his previous best time in the 200-yard freestyle to finish third in a time of 2:40.37.
Reiva improved by six seconds in the 100-yard backstroke (1:16.58) to finish third and he placed ninth in the 50-yard breaststroke (50.77) and 50-yard freestyle (32.88).
