Fernley Invitational cut short due to power outage

It has been a rough couple weeks for the McDermitt High School track and field team — due to bad luck and even worse weather.

The Bulldogs were scheduled to compete at the Wayne Invitational in Crane Ore., on April 5, but hat meet was canceled due to weather.

McDermitt was back on the road this past Friday for the Fernley Invitational. Snow wasn’t the problem there; it was high winds and a power outage ended the invitational early.

The only athlete to record a time was sophomore Reign Crutcher, who finished 14th in the 800 meters with a time of 3 minutes, 31.36 minutes.

McDermitt is scheduled to compete at the War Coates Invitational on Friday at Spring Creek High School.

The Bulldogs head north into Oregon for the Ranchers Invitational in Crane on Tuesday, April 23.
