November 22

In the case of Harold Guy Crawford, charged with Petit Larceny. Defendant had previously entered a guilty plea. 

After hearing recommendations, the court ruled as follows: Fined $640 to be paid in monthly payments of $50 or community service is defendant is not working. First payment is due in 30 days.


November 27

In the case of Carly Kathleen Hanyon, charged with Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Defendant read and signed paperwork and entered a No Contest plea at the counter and requested a payment plan. Court agreed to $50 monthly payments with $150 for given for 1 day time served.


November 30

In the case of Summer Star Hill, charged with Battery. DDA Steve Girardot stated that the defendant has had no new violations of the law and made motion to dismiss this matter pursuant to the deferred agreement. 

Court accepted the motion without objection from defense. 


In the case of Charles Randy Preston, charged with, 1: Use or Possess Drug Paraphernalia, 2: Injury to Property. After hearing from all parties, the court ruled as follows: Fined $1,780, converted to jail time and given credit for time served. 


In the case of Jeffery Leon Chocalas, charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance Not to be Introduced into interstate Commerce. 

Pursuant to negotiation, DDA Steve Girardot amended the criminal complaint to NRS 454.351, which was acknowledged by all parties. Defendant entered a No Contest plea to the amended charge.

The court canvassed and accepted his plea. After hearing from all parties, the court ruled as follows: Fined $1,140 in fines and fees, converted to jail time and given credit for time served. 


In the case of Jeffery Leon Chocalas charged with, 1: Driving a Motor Vehicle While Under the Influence of a Controlled Substance, 2: Driving a Motor Vehicle When Privilege as Nonresident was Suspended. 

Defendant entered a No Contest plea, which the court canvassed and accepted. 

After hearing from all parties, the court ruled as follows: Sentenced to 30 days in jail with 28 days stayed for period of 1 year on the condition he served 2 days. Credit for time served of 2 days already served. Fined $585 converted to jail time and given credit for time served.

 Online DUI School and victim impact panel to be completed by February 1, 2024.


In the case of Nataly Espino-Castanon, charged with Domestic Battery w/ two Prior Convictions within the last seven years.  The state called 1 witness. Defense called no witnesses. 

The state offered 2 exhibits which were marked and admitted without objection. It appearing to the court through the evidence, that there was insufficient evidence to believe the defendant committed said crime. Therefore, the case has been dismissed.


In the case of Charles Randy Preston, charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance. Pursuant to negotiation in the associated matter, DDA Steve Girardot made motion to dismiss this case. 

Without objection from the defense, the court accepted the motion. 


Jesse Scott Murrin, charged with DUI – 1st Offense. The court received and reviewed the alcohol evaluation prior to sentencing. After hearing from all parties, the court ruled as follows: Sentenced to 30 days jail time with 28 days stayed for a period of 1 year on the condition he serve 2 days, credit for 2 days of time already served. Fined $585, to be paid in full by December 8, 2023. 

Online DUI School and victim impact panel already completed and accepted by the court. Interlock device was not ordered.


December 5

In the case of Tim Leonard Lamkey, charged with Petit Larceny. Victim was present in court and stated this was a misunderstanding and there was no theft. Therefore DDA Steve Girardot made motion to dismiss the case. The court accepted the motion without objection from the defense. 


In the case of Nicole Yvonne Aragon, charged with Disturbing the Peace. Pursuant to the deferred agreement, DDA Steve Girardot made motion to dismiss the case, which was accepted by the court. 


December 6

In the case of Marco Antonio Castro, charged with, 1: No Dog License or Tag, 2: No Rabies Vaccination for Dog or Cat, 3: Dog Running at Large. DDA Steve Girardot dismissed citation of the record due to compliance.

In the case of Dann Sarai Brown, charged with, 1: Trespass, 2: Petit Larceny. Defendant previously entered a Guilty plea to both counts, which the court accepted. DDA Steve Girardot made motion to dismiss count 1, which the court accepted. 

After hearing from all parties, the court ruled as follows: Count 2 – Fined $1,140 to be paid in monthly payments of $50 beginning February 1, 2024.


December 7

In the case of Derick James McKinney, charged with Breach of Peace. After hearing reasoning for missing last hearing, the court accepted his explanation. 

The defendant entered a Guilty plea, which the court canvassed and accepted. 

After hearing from all parties, the court ruled as follows: Fined $355 to be paid in monthly payments of $50 beginning February 1, 2023. The jury demand previously filed was verbally withdrawn by defense. 


In the case of Laurel Kathleen Deboi, charged with DUI – 1st Offense. Defendant entered a No Contest plea, which the court canvassed and accepted. 

The defendant, along with her attorney, read and signed the DUI admonishment of rights, which was also accepted by the court.

The county offered 1 exhibit, which was marked and admitted without objection. 

The court accepted the defendant’s completion of rehabilitation and continued counseling in lieu of and alcohol evaluation.

After hearing from all parties, the court ruled as follows: Sentenced to 30 jail with 28 days stayed for period of 1 year on the condition she serve 2 days, with credit for 2 days time served. 

Fined $585, which is to be paid by cash bail forfeiture. The court accepted the certification of completion of rehabilitation in lieu of DUI school and victim impact panel. Breath Interlock Device ordered for 185 days.


December 8

In the case of Christopher Lee Stettler, charged with Breach of Peace. Defendant entered a Guilty plea, which the court canvassed and accepted. 

After hearing from all parties, the court ruled as follows: Fined $355 to be paid in monthly payments beginning February 1, 2024.


December 11

In the case of Timothy Richard Privett, charged with, 1: Current Registration, 2: Driving w/out Valid Driver’s License, 3: No Proof of Insurance. Defendant entered Guilty plea to all charges, which the court canvassed and accepted.

Court ruled as follows: Fined $1,290, which were converted to 8 days jail and was given credit for 8 days time served.

Kody Jock, age 28, was arrested for, 1: Violation of Parole, 2: Possession of Sched. 1 c/s, 3: Resist Officer. No Bail


Robert Geib, age 36, was arrested for Battery by Prisoner, Probationer, or Parolee – Simple Assault. Bail $20,000.


Tamra Kolton, age 40, was arrested for, 1: DUI Drugs, 2: Unregistered Vehicle. Bail $1,335.


December 6

Male Juvenile, age 12, was arrested for, 1: Domestic Battery – Simple, 2: Assault w/ a Deadly Weapon. No Bail.


December 7

Eric McCallum, age 32, was arrested for, 1: DUI – 1st Offense, 2: Not Maintaining Lane. Bail $1,225.
