Lowry High School in conjunction with the Nevada Interscholastic Activities Association (NIAA) is proud to help the local economy by hosting the Northern Nevada Regional 3A Baseball and Softball Tournaments.
The tournaments will be held at Lowry High School from May 12-14 and a total of 12 teams (six for baseball and softball) will compete for two spots each in the state championships.
Winnemucca can expect teams from the Lake Tahoe and Reno area, as well as Fernley, Fallon and Elko.
Action begins at 9 a.m. for baseball and 10 a.m. for softball.
There will be four softball games on May 12, with the No. 4 seed play the No. 5 seed at 10 a.m. The No. 3 seed will take on the No. 6 seed, beginning at 12:15 p.m.
Later on, May 12, the No. 1 seed from the East will play the winner of the No. 4/No. 5 game at 2:30 p.m.; The West No. 1 seed will face the winner of No. 3/No. 6 at 4:45 p.m.
Elimination games will take place at 10 a.m. and 12:15 p.m. on Friday, May 13.
The championship semifinals will start at 2:30 p.m. on May 13 and another elimination game will take place at 4:45 p.m. on May 13.
A contest to get into the championship game will start at 9 a.m. on May 14.
The championship is set for 11:30 a.m. and 30 minutes after if another game is needed.

Admission will be charged each day — and the NIAA does not accept local passes etc., for their regional tournaments.
Admission prices for NIAA postseason region and state events are: adults: $12, students with a valid high school or younger ID: $5 and children age 8 and younger are admitted free. NIAA Courtesy Cards and Lifetime Passes will be honored for the legitimate pass holder and one guest.
