Sheriff’s Captain graduates from FBI National Academy

The Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office would like to congratulate Captain Sean Wilkin on his graduation from the FBI National Academy. Captain Wilkin, who is a 21-year veteran of law enforcement, attended this prestigious leadership school along with command staff from around the United States and multiple international agencies. Following a ten-week stay on the FBI Campus in Quantico, Va., Captain Wilkin graduated on March 17, 2022.

The FBI National Academy is a professional course of study for U.S. and international Law Enforcement Managers who are nominated for attendance because of demonstrated leadership qualities. The ten-week program—which provides coursework in leadership, intelligence theory, terrorism and terrorist mindsets, management science, law, behavioral science, law enforcement communication, and forensic science—serves to improve the administration of justice in police departments and agencies at home and abroad and to raise law enforcement standards, knowledge, and cooperation worldwide.

Less than one percent of law enforcement professionals are accepted into, and graduate from this course of study.  This training program is a benefit to the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office and the services we provide to Humboldt County.

“We would like to welcome Captain Wilkin back to his full-time duties in overseeing the Patrol Division of the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office and look forward to working with him following this training experience,” officials said.
