The Battle Mountain High School FFA group recently returned from its 2022 state convention on the campus of the University of Nevada with a number of awards.
The Marketing team of Braxton Nield, Asher Bundrock and Sean Bengoa were the state champions and qualified for the FFA National Convention.
The Novice Ag Mechanics team of Ari Kyllonen, Jacob Perrone, Liam Bundrock and Jose Ramirez were second as a group. Perrone finished sixth as an individual and Bundrock was eighth.
The Nursery Landscape team of Dawson Kangiser and Jessica West were third. West placed second as an individual and Kangiser was eight. The Sakes team of Divine Jacobson, Julian Sosa, Brooklyn Buller, Joseph Scherer was fourth. Sosa finished sixth as an individual and Jacobson was 11tth.
In the job interview (employability skills), David Traweek placed third and Yezzel Guizar finished fifth.
Michael Lovelace was given the Silver Award in Ag Science Fair and Sean Bengoa and Braxton Nield were given state degrees.
